Cardiovascular
Cardiovascular disease: It is one of the deadliest silent killers of Americans. Nearly a half-million Americans lose their lives to this disease each year.
Cardiovascular disease affects the heart and/or blood vessels (arteries and veins) and develops when cholesterol, fatty material, and calcium build up in the arteries. When this occurs in the arteries that supply the heart, this build-up of plaque causes the arteries to narrow, so that oxygen delivery to the heart is reduced. The reduction in oxygen to the heart can create chest pain, also called angina. This can lead to very serious health problems.
